Company Overview
transforming premium magnetite into tomorrow’s solutions
Athena Resources Limited (ASX: AHN) is an Australian mineral exploration and development company focused on premium magnetite solutions that support sustainability and innovation across multiple industries. Rather than competing solely on bulk iron ore volume, Athena’s strategy is built around ultra-high-purity magnetite concentrate (70%+ Fe) with minimal impurities and consistent specifications—qualities increasingly valued in emerging green steel and other high-specification markets.

Unlike conventional iron ore miners who compete on commodity volume and grade, Athena’s strategic vision is to transform high-grade iron into high-value products that solve increasing challenges across multiple industries, from sustainable steel production to advanced battery technology, industrial processing and medical applications.
These are aspirational statements and are not intended to be forecasts, as the Company does not yet have reasonable grounds to expect that those matters will be achieved

Mid-West Green Iron Project concept
Athena’s longer-term direction is to move up the value chain, aiming to convert Byro magnetite into higher-value iron products locally, aligned with renewable energy integration and WA’s green industrial policy direction.
Why Athena
Athena’s differentiation is the combination of grade + purity + consistency. That product focus underpins a commercial strategy aimed at:
- accessing premium pricing for high-specification concentrate,
- aligning with lower-emissions steelmaking pathways that reward quality inputs,
- maintaining market optionality across multiple end uses, rather than relying on a single commodity outlet.
Our journey
Athena’s pathway has been shaped by the growing market premium for quality and performance:
Exploration to development focus: Athena has progressed its Byro tenure from exploration-stage work into defined deposits and development studies, with a clear emphasis on premium magnetite.
Key milestone – FE1 Scoping Study (May 2024): The Scoping Study concluded an economically robust concept based on pricing adjusted for the higher grade and quality of FE1 magnetite, including production of 70% Fe concentrate with very low impurities.
Ongoing validation: Athena continues to report metallurgical outcomes demonstrating ultra-high-grade concentrate above 70% Fe, reinforcing the product positioning for premium end uses.
